My Own Personal Home Sweet Home

I discovered at a very early age that I needed my place to be powerful. I had to abide by my parents rules because I lived in their house. I had no power. At times, my parents rules were unfair and unjust to me. When I graduated from college, I was hesitant to move back in with my parents, but I had no choice. I did not have the money to move out and the economy was bad. After two years, I decided to look for apartments in Manassas. I could not take living under my parents roof and their control.

As soon as I graduated from college, I needed a place to live. The recession was in full bloom and I had a hard time finding a job in my major. I did not want to live with my parents, but I was out of options. I realized that my livelihood was going to be affected by this new transition. I finally found a job and began to slowly save money. I always wanted to have a backup plan just in case something went wrong. I needed money for that to happen.

Moving back into my parents’ home had both pros and cons. One pro was that I got to stay at home with no rent. I just had to chip in with the household chores. The con was that I did not have the freedom that I had at the dorms. I could not have company over at the times that I wanted, Worst, I could not have privacy with my girlfriend. I could not take in anymore.

I found an apartment to live. It has all the things I wanted. My place is very spacious and safe. I can call my own shots and make my own rules. I am finally a real man.
